The concept of the Hymn Book indexes
All the recordings on this site are taken from published hymnbooks
that are currently used by Churches somewhere in the world.
Of course, I have only a limited set of hymn books that have been printed, and new ones are being printed all the time.
It became clear, that many users were creating an index of the hymns that I have recorded and cross-referencing them with their hymn book. So I felt it would be easier if I did that for some of the more common hymnals.
When I started to record hymns from non-English hymnals, the need for the cross-reference became more important, as my predominately English site was difficult for them to use. However, looking up the hymn number in their hymnal made the task easier for them, as I have made the link from the hymn number to the possible suitable recordings for that hymn.
Please note: that only public domain music is listed on this site. This means any hymn that I consider copyright (usually indicated by a copyright notice at the bottom of the page in the hymnal - although this is not always done), then the hymn will not be listed.
Also note, I may not have recorded every hymn in a hymn book.
