There are three types of music on this site:

PIPE ORGAN 

Most are actual recordings played by myself (mostly with a PDF score), with an introduction, a number of verses, and with a slight slowing down on the last verse.

Just as you would in Church.

PIANO

I have recorded two styles of piano music:
  1. Simple Piano (often with midi file)
  2. Piano and Organ

SMALL BAND

There recordings are computer generated using the 'Band in a Box' program. Several styles are used, including:

  1. Small Band (often with BIAB source file)
  2. Mainly Piano (with bass and maybe strings)
  3. Swing Band (often with a jazz feel).

The Recordings are listed and are available in several ways

INDEXES

Besides index of hymns by first line and tune name, there are also indexes of many currently used hymnbooks.  These indexes are by hymn number in the hymnbook.

  1. A variety of Hymn Books are indexed
  2. Many UK & USA English Hymn Books
  3. Foreign Language Hymn Books (including Chinese and Russian)

LARGE ZIP FILE



Users can obtain MP3 files in large ZIP files at no charge (download directly from the site).  Video music files with lyrics can also be obtained in  large ZIP files.

  1. On this site, there are over 9,000 MP3 public domain recordings, plus PDF scores, midi & BIAB files.  As from 25th Sept, 2015, no new recordings will be added to this site. Instead,  all old and new public domain Organ & Piano recordings are now being added to the hymnary.org site.  Click here for details.
  2. Copyright issues are never easy.  Inconsistencies in copyright law between countries,  and differences in hymnbook copyright notices further complicate the issue. Where copyright was obvious at the time of recording (on my smallchurchmusic.com site), I have not included that music on this site. If in doubt, I have included the recording on the basis that Christian composers would wish their music to be used to the Glory of God. If any copyright holder feels we have infringed their rights, please contact me and I shall remove the recording from this site.
  3. If you find errors on the site, I would appreciate knowing about it so I can correct it. Please contact me.
